INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH
Texas Association for Institutional Research (TAIR) Conference

During the last week of February, Alejandra Villalobos Melendez represented SRSU at the TAIR Conference. It was a great opportunity to learn more about what other Texas institutions are doing and learning ways to make IR at SRSU more efficient. Additionally, Alejandra focused on learning how other universities are using existing data to build more in-depth analyses aimed to increase student success and to learn about developing data trends in higher education. To highlight, Brandon Busteed, Executive Director of Education and Workforce Development at Gallup, provided a thoughtful examination of what he sees as ‘The Real Data Revolution’ in higher education – based on findings from a nationally representative large-scale survey of universities conducted as a partnership between Gallup and Purdue University. You can read Mr. Busteed’s thought-provoking article on the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges, Trusteeship Magazine.
