Better Sleep

Eight hours of quality sleep will aid your overall health and academic success.  A recent study showed students who slept 7-9 hours per night had higher GPAs than students who slept less.  Better sleep means more effective critical thinking, decision making, learning, and remembering.  Follow these tips to get a good night’s rest:

Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and sugar in the evening.

Exercise everyday, but avoid exercise three hours before bedtime.

Drink water in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

Turn off laptops, tablets, and TVs 30 minutes before bedtime.

Turn off your phone 30 minutes before bedtime.

If you can’t fall asleep, get out of bed and relax by reading or doing yoga.

Wake up and go to bed at the same time everyday.
